Johnny: Poverty

Poverty

In this Art piece I wanted to capture the The Sad and dangerous parts of Toronto and the environment some less fortunate kids have to grow up in, but I wanted to show even after all the scary things that happen that it can be beautiful. Toronto doesn't help the less fortunate community. It could go from broken bottles on the ground to cops in and out 24/7 but that's what most people think the “hoods” are like but it can be a beautiful place with a change of houses and fixing the roads, basketball court and sidewalk

The other changes Toronto can do is make community programs, have social workers be more available to the people in the community. When people hear the word hood/ poverty they will most likely think of drugs and gun violence, people in the suburban areas will think everyone is bad there especially the people with a darker skin tone but the people in the hood help out for each other

When people talk about Poverty they think it's only people of color that deal with it but anybody can deal with poverty. Poverty means not having enough money to meet basics that include food, clothing and shelter. It's harder to find jobs too because of the discriminations and it's really not fair how they are kicked to the side in a way the police would help the people with money.
