Artist Statement: Bianca Akayla

My work during my time at EYRAC I have learned about the different components of photography. Such as lighting work, angles, texture and color. Photograph has made my life more interesting and taught me life lesions. Things like patients and preciseness. 

My work for the past year has been focused on nature and natural beauty. I love going on walks and looking at the sky and the different colours outside. It gives me inspiration. I was always interested in photography from when I was young but I never pursued it until last year.

Photography is more than just capturing a photo is about the stories behind it. Every shot you take people will make a story about what they think is happing. The moods and everything can be perceived differently by the colour and tints in a picture. I used the black and white filter because it gives that unknown cool effect.it takes all that extra detail in the photo which leaves the view to make assumptions without knowing.

Photography is more than a picture you capture with a camera. It is the truth and also can be an escape from reality. I want photos to changed someone's mood and get them interested in what they are looking at. A camera is not just a camera it is the seeing glass of all things.When i have a  camera in my hand i feel so powerful but yet humble at the same time.
